DESCRIPTION
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier
Upon your arrival at Tangier’s airport or port, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. If time permits, you’ll have the opportunity to explore some of the city’s highlights. Enjoy your first night at a hotel with breakfast included.
Day 2: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
We'll set off early from Tangier, traveling along the Mediterranean coastline for stunning views. After passing through Tetouan, we'll arrive in the enchanting blue city of Chefchaouen. Wander through its vibrant medina, filled with charming streets, craft stalls, and bazaars.
In the afternoon, don’t miss the chance to visit Uta el-Hammam Square, the Great Octagonal Minaret Mosque, the Kasbah Gardens, the museum, and the art gallery, all conveniently located nearby. Explore the Ras El-Maa waterfall for beautiful views of the natural park and the city. For a breathtaking sunset, consider hiking to the top of the mountain that overlooks Chefchaouen. Night in a hotel with breakfast.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Fez
After breakfast, you’ll have a free morning to further explore Chefchaouen before we depart for Fez after lunch. Enjoy scenic views of fertile hills where wheat and corn are grown, as well as olive groves in season. Night in a hotel with breakfast.
Day 4: Guided Tour of Fez
Today, you’ll dive into the rich history of Fez with a local guide. Discover ancient sites both inside and outside the medina, including the tanneries, Nejjarine Fountain, and El Karaouine Mosque. You’ll also visit the Medersa Bouanania and stop by the Royal Palace gate and the Jewish quarter. Enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant in the medina, and continue exploring the city’s remarkable sites before returning to your riad for the night. Accommodation is with breakfast.
Day 5: Meknes – Volubilis – Fez
After breakfast, we’ll head to Volubilis, home to some of Morocco’s most significant Roman ruins. A knowledgeable guide will share insights into the ancient city’s history. Next, we’ll visit Moulay Idriss, a key pilgrimage site, before continuing to Meknes, the most modest of Morocco’s imperial cities. Take some time to explore the medina, the famous Sahrij Swani basin, and the artisan souks. Later, we’ll return to Fez for the night. Accommodation is with breakfast.
Day 6: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forests – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Your journey to Merzouga begins with a visit to Ifrane, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Morocco" due to its European-style architecture. We’ll then cross cedar forests, where you might spot some of Morocco's rare monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, known for its apple orchards, we’ll continue over the Atlas Mountains via the Talghomt pass, enjoying stunning views of rivers and streams. Before reaching the desert, we’ll pass through the Ziz Gorges and Valley. Arriving in Merzouga, you’ll have time to rest before embarking on a camel trek to your bivouac. Enjoy a warm welcome from the camp staff and spend the night under the stars in a traditional nomadic tent. Night in the camp with dinner and breakfast.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Hassi Labyad Oasis – Merzouga
After breakfast, embark on an exciting tour of the dunes, visiting several desert villages, including Khamlia, where you can enjoy traditional Gnawa music. You’ll also have a chance to meet local nomads in their tents, gaining insight into their way of life. Then, we’ll head to Rissani, the historical home of the Alaouite dynasty, and explore its intriguing souk and ancient kasbahs. After lunch, we’ll return to Merzouga for the night. Accommodation is with dinner and breakfast.
Day 8: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Ouarzazate
Following breakfast, we’ll leave the desert and drive through several towns, stopping for a 30-minute hike in the impressive Todra Gorges. As we continue along the Dades Valley, you’ll see nut trees, peaches, and the unique Damaskina roses. Arrive in Ouarzazate and check in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation is with dinner and breakfast.
Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, you have the option to visit a film studio where numerous movies have been filmed. Then, we’ll make our way to Marrakech, with a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its role in films like Lawrence of Arabia and Babel. Explore the kasbah and enjoy panoramic views from the top before continuing to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. Accommodation is with breakfast.
Day 10: Guided Tour of Marrakech
Your guided city tour will include visits to major historical sites and beautiful gardens. Explore the Menara Garden, Majorelle Garden, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, Marrakech Museum, and Koutoubia Mosque. After lunch, experience the vibrant Djemaa El Fna square, where you can enjoy street performances and an open-air dining experience in the evening. Stroll through the souks to see local artisans at work. Spend the night in a riad or hotel. Accommodation is with breakfast.
Day 11: Marrakech – Essaouira
We’ll pick you up from your riad and head to the coastal town of Essaouira. As we drive, enjoy views of the flat terrain and Argan trees, known for producing unique Argan oil used in cosmetics and cuisine. You’ll visit cooperatives that produce this oil. Upon arrival in Essaouira, enjoy a lunch of fresh local fish before exploring the town. Take in panoramic views over Mogador, stroll around the harbor, and watch the traditional fishing boats.
Day 12: Essaouira – El Jadida – Casablanca
After breakfast, we’ll head north towards Casablanca, stopping along the coast to visit historic towns, including Safi, known for its pottery. Continuing to El Jadida, a former Portuguese stronghold, we’ll enjoy lunch before proceeding to Casablanca for the night. Accommodation is with breakfast.
Day 13: Casablanca – Rabat
Today, we’ll take a day trip to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Begin with a tour of Casablanca’s highlights, including Mohamed V Square and the impressive Hassan II Mosque. After a two-hour drive to Rabat, explore the Royal Palace, the Kasbah of Ouadaya, and other historical sites. Following lunch, visit the Mohamed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower, an unfinished mosque from the 18th century. Accommodation is with breakfast.
Day 14: rabat– Assilah – Tangier
After breakfast, we’ll drive north to Tangier, stopping in the picturesque coastal town of Assilah. Here, you can wander the medina’s colorful alleyways and admire its artistic murals. Enjoy stunning views from the town’s rooftop before we continue to Tangier for the night at your riad. Accommodation is with breakfast.
Day 15: Departure
Depending on your departure time, we’ll arrange for your transfer to the port or airport. This concludes your memorable tour of Morocco.
